How material transport within the plant

Material transport within plants is accomplished through a variety of processes. The most common process is called translocation, which is the movement of substances from one part of the plant to another. This can be accomplished through the xylem and phloem, which are the pathways that transport water and other nutrients throughout the plant. Additionally, some substances can be moved through the cell walls via active transport, which involves the use of energy to move the material. Finally, material can also be moved through the plant via diffusion, which is the movement of particles from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration.
